Geto Suguru smiled and followed.
Ieiri Shoko put away his Mobile Phone and walked at the very back.
After walking a few steps, High School Gojo suddenly stopped.
“Geto Suguru,” he said, without turning back.
Hmm?
That Tu Bai," he said, "he said his version of himself in this world is also in Tokyo.
Geto Suguru was stunned.
High School Gojo continued walking forward.
I'm going out tomorrow," he said, his voice very soft, as if he were talking to himself, "to see if there are any good Dessert Shops.
Ieiri Shoko rolled his eyes from behind.
Geto Suguru smiled and shook his head.
Three people slowly walked away.
Behind them, that Wasteland was quiet, as if nothing had ever happened.
The wind blew through the grass, making a rustling sound.
Chapter 50
After a familiar bout of dizziness, Tu Bai felt his body crash heavily onto something hard.
He lay there, taking several seconds to recover before slowly opening his Eyes.
What met his eyes was a stretch of hazy Stone Floor. It felt somewhat familiar. He lifted his head and saw a dilapidated Shrine ahead, with a dusty Stone Mirror embedded inside.
It is a Shrine.
They are back.
Tu Bai froze for a few seconds, then suddenly stood up.
His hand immediately pressed against his abdomen.
That warm orb was still there. It was pulsing gently; although it was a bit weaker than before, it was still there.
He breathed a sigh of relief, his legs giving way as he sat back down on the ground.
A muffled groan came from beside him. Gojo Satoru propped himself up from the ground, rubbed the back of his head, then looked at him.
Are you okay?
Tu Bai shook his head.
Gojo Satoru stood up, walked to the Shrine doorway, looked outside. It was already dark, the surroundings were very quiet, with only the distant streetlights shining.
He walked back and crouched down beside Tu Bai.
The time is about the same," he said, taking out his Mobile Phone to take a look. "It's been three days since the day we left.
Three days.
Tu Bai thought of the month in the Otherworld, suddenly feeling a sense of unreality.
So many things happened in that one month. Amnesia, becoming a king, being besieged by the Phantom Troupe, searching for the Stone Mirror, transmigration through time and space, yet, only three days had passed here.
Gojo Satoru looked at him, reaching out to support his arm.
“Can you stand up?”
Tu Bai nodded and used his strength to stand up.
His legs were still a bit weak. As soon as he stood steady, he swayed again. Gojo Satoru immediately wrapped his arm around his waist to steady him.
The two of them just stood there, neither of them saying a word.
Tu Bai leaned against him, able to feel that man's heartbeat. It was fast, even faster than his own.
He raised his head and looked at Gojo Satoru's face.
There was exhaustion on that face, relief, something else that was hard to describe. There were dark circles under his eyes, making him look quite disheveled.
But those Blue Eyes were still so bright.
Tu Bai suddenly didn't want to move anymore.
He leaned against him like that, listening to his heartbeat and smelling the familiar aura on him.
Gojo Satoru didn't move either. He simply held him, his chin resting lightly atop his head.
A long, long time passed.
Gojo Satoru lowered his head and gave his hair a gentle kiss.
Welcome back, Xiao Bai.
Tu Bai's eyes suddenly grew a bit sore.
He buried his face in Gojo Satoru's chest and let out a muffled "Mm." His arms tightened, encircling Gojo's waist.
The exhaustion and sense of safety of a survivor surged up all at once.
He just wanted to stay like this, thinking of nothing and caring about nothing.
Even if it was only for a little while.
---
Tu Bai was awakened by the Sunlight.
He opened his eyes and saw the familiar Ceiling. The Apartment's White Ceiling, with a thin crack in the Corner that he had seen countless times.
He was back.
He really came back.
He lay there motionless, staring at those Cracks for a long time.
A voice came from nearby. Gojo Satoru walked out from the Bathroom, his hair soaking wet and water droplets still clinging to his face. Seeing that Tu Bai was awake, he walked over and sat down by the Bedside.
Awake?
Tu Bai nodded.
Gojo Satoru reached out to feel his forehead, then checked his complexion.
I've made an appointment with Ieiri Shoko for the Afternoon. I'll go for another checkup.
Yeah.
Gojo Satoru stood up and went to get his Jacket.
I'm heading to Jujutsu High; I have some matters to handle. Breakfast is on the table; sleep a bit more after you finish eating. I'll be back at noon.
Tu Bai nodded again.
Gojo Satoru walked to the Doorway and turned back to take a look at him. He wanted to say something, but didn't, then opened the door and left.
The Room fell silent.
Tu Bai sat for a while, then reached for the Mobile Phone on the Nightstand.
Power on.
Messages flooded in. There were dozens of unread ones, most from Tu Bao, a few from Tu.
He clicked on Tu Bao's chat box.
[Er Bao, where are you!!]
[Why won't the Phone go through??]
[See this, reply to the Message!!]
[Dazai-san said something happened over there??]
Er Bao, don't scare me, wuwuwu
I'll go to Tokyo to find you tomorrow!!
【Er Bao, please reply to me, wuwuwu】
Tu Bai looked at those Messages, the corners of his mouth curled slightly.
He typed: 【Alive. I'm fine. Don't cry.】
After sending it, he opened Tu's chat box again.
Tu's messages were few, but each one was very long.
[Brother, what happened on your end? The connection suddenly cut out; I thought something had happened to you.]
I couldn't get a hold of you, so I had Tsunayoshi help me look into it. He said you disappeared along with that Gojo Satoru.
[If you see this Message, reply to me. No matter what, let me know that you are okay.]
Tu Bai typed: 【I'm fine. I'm back. I'll talk to you later.】
After sending it, he put down his Mobile Phone and leaned against the headboard.
---
In the afternoon, at Ieiri Shoko's infirmary.
Tu Bai lay on that familiar Examination Table, staring at the Ceiling. Ieiri Shoko stood beside him, holding a Measuring Instrument, moving it back and forth over his Belly.
Gojo Satoru stood at the Doorway, leaning against the wall, watching this side.
Ieiri Shoko scanned for a while before setting down the Measuring Instrument.
The Demon Power consumption is too high," she said, his tone as usual. "Baby's condition is alright, but you need to let him recover. At least for half a month, don't use any Demon Power, don't overexert yourself, don't let your emotions fluctuate too much.
Tu Bai nodded.
Ieiri Shoko glanced at him, then glanced at Gojo Satoru, said nothing.
