Tu Bao looked up.
Don't you think it's strange?" Dazai Osamu said. "If Gojo Satoru really doesn't want the Child, he should just say so directly. Why ask in such a roundabout way about whether it's unexpected or not?
Tu Bao froze.
And besides," Dazai Osamu walked over and sat down beside Tu Bao, "if he really didn't want it, given his strength, do you think Tu Bai could have escaped?
Tu Bao opened his mouth.
Dazai Osamu reached out, pulling him closer and letting him lean against his shoulder.
That white cat," he said, his Voice carrying a hint of playfulness, "should be arriving soon.
Tu Bao froze for a few seconds, then reacted, "You mean—"
Dazai Osamu smiled and did not answer.
He just looked at the night view of Yokohama outside the window, his finger idly playing with Tu Bao's hair.
---
3:00 AM.
The doorbell at Tu Bao's house rang.
Tu Bao jumped up from the Sofa and subconsciously glanced at Tu Bai—he was still sleeping, but his brow was slightly furrowed.
He walked lightly to the Doorway and looked out through the Peephole.
A person was standing under the light in the Corridor.
White Hair, no Blindfold, Blue Eyes glimmering faintly in the dim Light. Wearing a Black Hoodie, the Hat was pulled over his head, obscuring half of his face.
But he still recognized him.
Gojo Satoru.
Tu Bao hesitated for two seconds, then opened the door a crack.
"What are you here for?" He lowered his voice, his tone unfriendly.
Gojo Satoru looked up, staring at him.
Those Blue Eyes held neither his usual lazy smile nor his typical flamboyant confidence. He simply looked at him calmly, when he spoke, his Voice was somewhat hoarse.
Is he inside?
So what if he is?" Tu Bao blocked the Doorway, "He doesn't want to see you.
Gojo Satoru fell silent for a second.
I know," he said. "But I must see him.
Tu Bao glared at him: "You—"
Let him in.
Dazai Osamu's voice came from behind him. Tu Bao turned back and saw Dazai Osamu leaning against the Bedroom Door, nodding to him.
Tu Bao grit his teeth and opened the door anyway.
Gojo Satoru walked in and immediately saw Tu Bai curled up on the sofa.
He stood there, watching for a few seconds.
Then he walked over.
His movements were very light, as if every step was made in fear of disturbing something. Reaching the Sofa, he knelt down, crouching in front of Tu Bai.
Tu Bai was sleeping deeply, his brows slightly furrowed, one hand still clutching the edge of the quilt. There were traces of crying on his face, his eyelids were slightly swollen, there were still a few traces of undried tears on his eyelashes.
Gojo Satoru looked at him, motionless.
It took a long time before he reached out his hand.
Fingers gently brushed against Tu Bai's hair. It was very light, so light it was as if afraid of breaking something.
Tu Bai's brow twitched, then he slowly opened his eyes.
He saw Gojo Satoru's face and froze for a second. Then his body stiffened, he immediately turned away, burying his face into the Sofa.
"What are you doing here?" His Voice was muffled, carrying Sleepiness and defensiveness.
Gojo Satoru crouched there, without standing up.
“Looking for you,” he said.
“Not going back.”
I know.
Silence.
Tu Bai buried his face even deeper, his voice muffled by the Sofa, making it almost impossible to hear: "Didn't you say you didn't want Baby? Why did you come looking for me again?"
Gojo Satoru took a deep breath.
Then he spoke. His Voice was steady, completely different from his usual self.
Xiao Bai, I like you.
Tu Bai's back stiffened.
“It's not because of the Child,” Gojo Satoru continued, “It's because you are you. It's because you still dare to rush forward and slash even when you're afraid of Cursed Spirits, it's because your eyes curve when you smile, it's because you make so many little gestures when you're plotting against me, it's because you hide your face when you cry.”
He paused.
I loved you before you were pregnant. When you first—when you just said you were pregnant, my first reaction wasn't 'it's over, there's a child,' it was 'that's great, we can be together forever.'
Tu Bai did not move, but he did not make a sound either.
Gojo Satoru continued, "I didn't ask those things because I didn't want a Child. I was worried about you. The first three months are unstable, your Demon Power consumption is high; I was afraid that if something were to happen.. I wouldn't be able to take care of you all."
Tu Bai's finger moved.
I've looked up a lot of information before, I know how difficult it is to raise a child," Gojo Satoru's voice dropped. "I'm not afraid of anything, except for something happening to you. I'm only afraid that I won't take good enough care of you, that I'll let you suffer.
He reached out and gently touched Tu Bai's shoulder.
The one I've never worried about is the Child in your belly. It's you.
Tu Bai finally turned around.
Red Eyes looked at him, his eyes turning red again.
"Really?" he asked, his Voice very small.
Gojo Satoru nodded.
Really. Truer than gold.
Tu Bai looked at him for several seconds. Then, he sniffled his nose.
Then why didn't you say so sooner?
Gojo Satoru smiled bitterly.
Did you even give me a chance to speak?
Tu Bai opened his mouth, then closed it again.
It seems.. there really wasn't any.
He blew up the moment he heard those words, giving the other party no chance to explain at all.
A feeling of being in the wrong welled up.
He lowered his head and fell silent.
Gojo Satoru reached out, using his finger to gently wipe the tear stains from his face. The movement was incredibly light.
Tu Bai did not dodge.
After a while, he slowly nudged closer toward Gojo Satoru.
It was a very small distance.
Gojo Satoru did not move, he just watched him.
Tu Bai nuzzled against him again.
Then he lifted his head, leaned in, gave Gojo Satoru a kiss on the cheek.
A soft "mwah" sound, very light.
After kissing him, she pulled back and buried his face in the Sofa, his ears turning bright red.
Gojo Satoru froze there.
He touched the face that had been kissed, then he smiled.
That kind of smile was different from his usual ones; it was the kind that came from true happiness.
"Xiao Bai," he called.
Tu Bai did not look up.
"Xiao Bai." He called out again.
Tu Bai still ignored him.
Gojo Satoru reached out, scooped him up along with the Pillow, pulled him into his embrace.
Tu Bai struggled for a moment, but when he couldn't break free, he gave up. He buried his face in his chest and stopped moving.
Gojo Satoru lowered his head, his lips brushing against his ear as he whispered:
Can we go home now?
Tu Bai was silent for a few seconds.
Then he reached out, wrapped his arms around Gojo Satoru's waist, pressed his entire body into his embrace.
He said nothing, only nodded.
A very obedient kind of Rabbit Nodding.
Gojo Satoru held him tightly, resting his chin on top of his head and closing his eyes.
