Blinding White Light filled the entire Room, nothing could be seen.
Only White Light.
Then, a person walked out from the Light.
His Silver Hair was messy, his Clothes were torn, there was Dust on his face; he looked quite disheveled.
But those Blue Eyes were still so bright, so beautiful.
Gojo Satoru stood there, looking down at him.
Tu Bai knelt on the Floor, looking up at him.
That face had lost a layer of weight, with sunken eye sockets, swollen Eyes, chapped Lips; it truly could not be described as beautiful.
He didn't even look human; he looked like a ghost.
But Gojo Satoru looked on, feeling nothing but heartache.
"Xiao Bai," he called out, his voice hoarse.
Tu Bai opened his mouth, wanting to say something.
But nothing could be said.
He just rushed forward and held him in a death grip.
He held him so tightly, as if afraid that he would disappear again.
Gojo Satoru caught him, tightening his arms.
The person in his arms was trembling, weeping, crying with such heart-wrenching grief.
Senpai.. Baby is gone..
The wailing was intermittent, mixed with tears and snot.
I.. I didn't provide enough protection for him.. Sorry.. Sorry..
Gojo Satoru's heart tightened into a knot.
He knew it was a False Pregnancy.
But he knew even more that those three months of anticipation, those days of talking to the belly, that "Future" they constructed together, were more real than reality to Tu Bai.
He tightened his arms, holding the person in his embrace even more tightly.
It's okay now," he said softly, his Voice raspy yet gentle, "I am here. I'm back.
Tu Bai cried until his voice gradually grew weak.
his Body went limp, leaning into his embrace.
Gojo Satoru looked down.
The person in his arms slowly shrank, shrank, until finally becoming a tiny Black Rabbit.
Curled into a ball with ears drooping, his small body undulating slightly.
Gojo Satoru gently lifted him.
So small, so soft, so fragile.
He carefully probed with his own Cursed Energy—he was fine, just exhausted.
He raised his head and looked at the person standing at the Doorway.
Okkotsu Yuta leaned there, his Peacock Blue Eyes looking at him.
Seven days," Okkotsu said. "He hasn't slept or eaten much for seven days; he's just been researching how to open that thing.
Gojo Satoru said nothing.
The Higher-ups sentenced him to death," Okkotsu continued. "He's been stripped of his status and everything he once held dear. It's all because of the incident involving the cursed object.
Gojo Satoru's Blue Eyes grew colder and colder.
And one more thing," Okkotsu said. "The day you were sealed, he..
He paused.
The Child in his belly is gone.
Gojo Satoru looked down at the Little Black Rabbit in his arms.
The little fellow curled into a ball, his ears covering his face, his small body undulating slightly.
He reached out his hand and gently stroked his ears.
It was very soft.
"I understand," he said.
He stood up and carefully tucked Little Black Rabbit into his arms, pressing him against his chest.
Then he stretched his wrist.
A familiar, arrogant curve curled the corners of his mouth.
Time to go clean up this mess.
The Rabbit in his arms stirred, shrinking further into his embrace.
Gojo Satoru looked down, his gaze softened in an instant.
"I'll take you home," he said softly.
He pushed open the door and walked out.
It was still dark outside, but the far distance had begun to turn a pale white, dawn was approaching.
Chapter 62
It has been one month since the Shibuya Incident.
A lot has happened in the Jujutsu World of Tokyo. After Gojo Satoru came out, he took three days to deal with the Higher-ups, two days to settle the Zenin Clan, spent the rest of his time reorganizing Jujutsu High. Those who were acting up before have all been tamed now.
But no matter how busy he was, he would return home on time every day.
Returning to that Apartment where a Little Black Rabbit was waiting for him.
Originally, he had planned to keep Tu Bai tucked in his clothes to carry with him.
Little Black Rabbit crouched in his pocket, with only his ears peeking out. When Gojo Satoru was in meetings, he would poke his head out to look. When Gojo Satoru was fighting, he would shrink back into the pocket without moving. When Gojo Satoru was eating, he would cling to the edge of the pocket, his Red Eyes staring at his food.
It was quite well-behaved.
But on Day 3, Tu Bai had enough.
That day, Gojo Satoru went to Jujutsu High and stuffed him into his pocket again. Just as he entered the school gate, Itadori rushed over: "Gojo-sensei! Today's training—"
Halfway through his sentence, he saw the Little Black Rabbit in his pocket.
Whoa!!" Itadori's eyes lit up, "Is this a Rabbit?! So cute!!
Then Kugisaki and Fushiguro also crowded around.
It really is a rabbit!" Kugisaki reached out to touch it, "The fur is so soft—
"Its eyes are red!" Fushiguro leaned in to look.
Little Black Rabbit was stared at by four pairs of eyes, frozen there without moving a muscle.
Itadori poked its Rabbit Ears.
Kugisaki stroked its small head.
Fushiguro reached out to hold it.
Little Black Rabbit finally reacted, diving deep into the Pocket with his head down, his butt facing outward, his Rabbit Ears covering his face completely.
Itadori: "Is it shy?"
Kugisaki: "So cute!!"
Fushiguro: ".. It seems to be trembling."
Gojo Satoru laughed uncontrollably, covering the Pocket: "Alright, alright, stop scaring it."
That evening when they returned home, Little Black Rabbit jumped out of his pocket, hopped onto the Sofa, turned his butt toward Gojo Satoru, ignoring him for the rest of the night.
On Day 2 Morning, Gojo Satoru wanted to put him in his pocket again, but Little Black Rabbit clung tightly to the Sofa, refusing to go in at all costs.
Gojo Satoru pulled him.
Little Black Rabbit clung to the Sofa, his four short legs kicking desperately.
Gojo Satoru pulled again.
Little Black Rabbit let out a "Squeak—" of protest.
Finally, Gojo Satoru gave up.
Alright," he sighed, "stay at home. I'll be back early.
Only then did Little Black Rabbit let go of the Sofa, hopping to his feet and nuzzling his ankle.
From then on, Tu Bai stayed at home.
---
After a month, Little Black Rabbit's life had become very much routine.
In the morning, Gojo Satoru got out of bed, it woke up as well. It crouched by the nightstand, watching him change clothes, watching him wash up, watching him head out.
Gojo Satoru walked to the Doorway and turned back to wave at it, "I'm leaving."
Little Black Rabbit just crouched there, his Ears twitching slightly as a response.
During the daytime, it stays at home by itself. It eats, sleeps, uses its Mobile Phone.
The Mobile Phone was left for him by Gojo Satoru, placed on the Coffee Table and propped up by a stand. Little Black Rabbit crouched in front of the Mobile Phone, using his little paws to swipe the Screen. He scrolled through videos, read News, occasionally sent a few Messages to Tu Bao.
Tu Bao would get incredibly excited every time he received a Message: 【Er Bao, you've changed back?!】
