Boss!
Wood was so moved that he was on the verge of tears.
Gabriel, his chest pierced, turned around and looked at Master with cold, beautiful eyes.
Long time no see, traitor!
Traitor? He told you I am His subordinate?
[You—]
As an Archangel, you ignore the sincere pleas of believers suffering in misery, focusing solely on hunting down Wood simply because he helped the weak and because he has a close relationship with me and possesses a power you cannot understand—
I will resolve the matters regarding the Montbanes Family and the Stone Demon! But before that, I must deal with you and him!
Gabriel glared at Master White through gritted teeth, his golden hair appearing like a raging flame.
“Will you really solve this matter? Or rather—do you even have the power to deal with the Stone Demon?”
Master retorted, "If you truly wanted to resolve this matter, you should have stepped in a hundred years ago when Montbanes I and Wife sacrificed their Eldest Son, Benjamin, to the Stone Demon in exchange for wealth and glory!"
It's not that I didn't intervene. I preached the glory of God to them through the local bishop, but they chose to side with the Demon! Benjamin also surrendered his Soul to the Demon of his own free will! So—
So you have ignored Benjamin's suffering for the past hundred years, ignoring Benjamin's kind desire to save Arthur? Because you believe Benjamin chose the Demon of his own volition, he no longer deserves to be saved?!
[Indeed, he is already a servant of the Demon.]
"Archangel Gabriel said ruthlessly, suddenly letting go of Wood, whom he was holding by the hand.
“—Ah!”
Wood screamed in terror as his body continued to plummet under the force of gravity.
Help me—
Before the scream could even finish, his body had already landed steadily in a firm embrace.
Wood gazed excitedly at the Boss's near-perfect jawline, while from the corner of his eye, he noticed a strong sense of resentment surfacing on Gabriel's Greek-sculpture-perfect face.
Boss.. I, I..
I didn't expect you to save him without hesitation. Is he really that important to you?
Gabriel's voice struck Wood's ears like a heavy hammer.
[You once—]
“You have no right to speak to me.”
Master coldly interrupted Gabriel's words and handed Wood over to Anubis, who had rushed over upon hearing the news, appearing in a dog-headed form: "Protect him."
[Of course!]
Anubis looked at Gabriel with extreme displeasure.
[Imposter!]
What did you say—
Gabriel was furious.
Anubis gave him a disdainful glance and said no more.
Master turned his head and explained to Wood, "In ancient religions, it was common for gods and deities to merge and absorb one another. Judaism, the predecessor of Christianity, once absorbed gods and religious concepts from many different places—therefore, as one of the most important deities of Ancient Egypt, Anubis is perfectly qualified to mock Judaism and its derivative, Christianity, as a bunch of imposters!"
You shameless, rogue pagans!
Gabriel's expression grew increasingly ferocious and enraged.
Anubis remained unmoved, looking indifferently at the Archangel, whose emotions were gradually spiraling out of control.
Wood—
Because of his previous unpleasant experiences, he said mockingly, "So even the noble Archangel was created by Frankenstein."
Shut up!
Gabriel's Sword condensed in Gabriel's hands once again.
Don't think that just because that guy is here, I won't dare to attack you!
“I would never—"
Before the words could even leave his mouth, billowing black smoke suddenly erupted from the direction of Madonna Convent. Wood cried out in shock, "Boss! Over there! Over there is—"
I know that is Madonna Convent.
Master gave Gabriel a meaningful look. "This matter seems a bit complicated."
You suspect me and the Stone Demon—
The fact that you would ask such a question in public shows that there is indeed a massive, filthy secret within your heart.

Author's Note: Note: Frankenstein is the name of the scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who created Frankenstein's Monster in the novel *Frankenstein*. Frankenstein's Monster does not have a name in the book; therefore, the meaning of the word "Frankenstein" is one who is destroyed by his own spells, one who is ruined by his own creation, or a demon created by humanity that can no longer be controlled.
(The protagonist's insult calling the Angel a Frankenstein creation was originally intended to mock how most of the angels in Christianity are a patchwork of various other mythologies and religions; however, Gabriel associated this with Frankenstein's fate in the novel, feeling that he was cursing his own Lord, he was absolutely livid.)

Chapter 25 Gabriel and Gargoyle (12)
[.. You doubt me?]
I don't have time to argue with you right now.
Master looked at Wood: "Go to the Madonna Convent immediately! Arthur is trapped in the fire!"
Understood.
Wood nodded, returned to the ground with Anubis's help, then immediately hailed a taxi and pulled out his phone to contact Jason.
High in the sky—
Gabriel's interrogation continued.
Why betray Him? You know—
He has walked the wrong path.
[He cannot be wrong! He is the absolute truth!]
Absolutely correct? Are you sure?
—What's going on with Wood? Why do you care about him? He is..
You've also discovered that there are many mysteries surrounding him?
[..]
You do not dare to look directly at Wood's uniqueness, nor do you dare to probe the causes behind that uniqueness, because you fear the truth will shake your devotion to Him. But I—I made my choice five thousand years ago. My choice made me who I am today, that is all.
[.. What exactly is your intention, Wood! Poof!]
Gabriel opened his mouth, letting out a shriek so piercing it could tear the very air apart.
..
..
By the time Wood arrived at Madonna Convent, the fire was largely under control, the Matrons were taking headcounts in the open area.
Did all the children escape?
Most of them escaped, but—
Who didn't escape?
Arthur..
What! Arthur has gone missing?
Wood was shocked.
Theresa Matron, who was looking after the boys, explained with a bitter smile, "When the fire broke out, most of the children were napping in their rooms, but Arthur made an excuse to go to the restroom and ended up wandering off somewhere! Now that this has happened.. we can only pray for the Lord's protection!"
Prayer?
Wood glanced at the building that was still emitting black smoke and decided—
No! It's too dangerous!
Several Matrons quickly grabbed him.
Leave me alone! I must find Arthur!
But..
The fire is mostly under control. I believe I won't encounter any danger, besides—
Wood showed everyone Little Anubis, who was staying close by his side: "My Little Anubis is a trained search and rescue dog reserve."
Papa, I..
Little Anubis flicked his ears speechlessly.
The Matrons breathed a sigh of relief upon learning that the Black Puppy by Wood's side was a Reserve Police Dog, they pinched their Crosses as they offered blessings: "May the Lord protect you."
Thank you.
(It's a pity you don't know that your Archangel was just trying to kill me..)
Muttering to himself, Wood led Little Anubis into the fire scene. Beneath their feet was a thick, wet mixture of black ash and water. The scorching air held the pungent scent of burning plastic and the indescribable stench of charred protein. The brick-and-tile walls still stood, their surfaces peeling and curling like tree bark to reveal twisted rebar, while faint, dark red embers struggled to survive in the depths of the darkness.
Drip, drip..
Water droplets fell from above, striking the sheet metal and rubble with a monotonous and clear sound, like the dying heartbeat of the building.
Soon, Wood, having ventured deep into the Ruins, found himself enveloped in thick darkness. The only sounds were the dripping water, his own footsteps, the crisp cracking of collapsing wood. Little Anubis looked up, his large, wet eyes staring unblinkingly at the faint blue light, pale as a moon on a cloudy day, that was gradually radiating from the surface of Wood's skin.
Wood, focused on searching for Arthur within the Ruins, did not notice the changes occurring within himself—even if he had, he would have instinctively assumed this light came from the power remaining within Boss's body—he moved his steps cautiously, working together with Little Anubis to search for signs of life.
