"Chapter 8(1 / 1)

The approaching footsteps interrupted Gin's thoughts.

He shook his head and decided to stop thinking about it, choosing instead to memorize the youth's appearance, intending to investigate him privately later.

As the youth stood up, his clothes shifted, something seemed to have fallen from his outer pocket.

"!" His gaze swept over it unintentionally, his expression suddenly froze, leaving him looking uncharacteristically dazed for a moment.

"Gin.." The girl's soft voice calling his name snapped the Silver-haired youth out of his daze.

Since Gin had his back to him, she did not notice anything unusual about him.

"Solved?" The Silver-haired youth suppressed his surprise and turned around to ask, his tone as usual.

It's settled," Shiratori Midori said, his head lowered, a few strands of brown hair falling over his face as he murmured a low self-reproach, "I was too careless this time.

"Good." Gin slowly closed the cover of his watch. This seemingly ordinary watch could fire tranquilizer needles; it was custom-made by Gin through a specialist, based on the equipment of a certain detective boy.

The first test subject was currently lying on the ground, unconscious.

He lowered his hand, his gaze indifferent and his tone cold: "Go back and improve your anti-tracking skills; next time, pay more attention to the details of your disguise."

Two points summarized the mistakes Shiratori had committed.

The girl nodded, then looked up at Gin, his words carrying a hidden meaning: "How do you plan to deal with this person?"

He was referring to the blonde-haired youth lying on the ground.

Gin fell silent for a moment. He was still thinking about the plan to pull him into the Black Organization, which made him somewhat reluctant—but he also knew himself that the possibility of that plan was slim, so—

Kill him.

It was still a bit of a pity.

Shiratori Midori paused. He knew in his heart that this was standard procedure, but..

Perhaps it was the sensation of having just killed someone, the feeling of having ended a life, still swirling in his mind.

Or perhaps it was the complex emotions that had been lingering in his heart, growing more intense over this period of time, refusing to be shaken off.

Neither of these was enough to make his lose his reason, but they did, after all, stir a sense of pity within him.

Pity for life.

Being soft-hearted will be the death of you.

He heard a voice whispering in his ear.

He hasn't seen my face; I was facing away from him.

He heard his own slightly trembling voice echoing in the silent street, which was still thick with the scent of blood.

..

Gin gave his a surprised look.

The tacit understanding born from years of friendship was enough for him to understand the subtext in Shiratori Midori's words.

He didn't see his face, his identity wasn't exposed—there was no need to kill him to cover it up.

If it were anyone else, Gin certainly wouldn't care about their thoughts, but—Midori is different after all.

But—

An ill-timed moment of softness, within the Black Organization..

He suddenly felt a bit worried about Shiratori Midori's state, but now was not the time to dwell on that.

Recalling what he had just seen, Gin began to seriously consider the possibility of sparing that youth.

According to their original plan, if handled properly, it would not attract anyone's attention.

And the appearance of that youth undoubtedly brought about some variables.

If they had really killed him, it would have been impossible for them to dispose of the traces nearby—after all, this youth had no connection to the people in that vehicle.

And if a car accident had already occurred nearby, adding a death to the mix—whether it was murder or suicide—would make that accident seem less like a "coincidence."

Therefore, if they wanted to achieve perfection without any flaws, they had only two choices.

Either he could disguise the youth's corpse to look like a victim of a fuel tank explosion—or perhaps he was simply struck by a car that then exploded—or he could take him to a location much further from the scene before disposing of him.

He weighed the options and found that both methods had their own pros and cons.

But if he truly let him go..

There are no surveillance cameras, no witnesses, the scene will be cleaned up quickly, leaving no traces behind.

Even if he spoke the truth, what evidence could there be to prove it?

Gin brushed the Blonde-haired youth's cheek with his finger, a playful smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

He didn't see my face either.

He made his decision.

So, what will you do?

"I will personally keep an eye on his movements over the next few days. If he has no intention of speaking out, then there is no need to take action," the Silver-haired youth stood up, the midday sunlight washing over him, making his elegant demeanor even more striking.

Even though he was a reaper dwelling in the darkness, at this moment, he was draped in a dazzling light.

“If he says something he shouldn't—well.. though no one would believe him anyway,” the Silver-haired youth's emerald eyes darkened slightly. “If he does, then we'll kill him after everything is over.”

If you say anything you shouldn't, I really will kill you.

Gin thought this as he lowered his gaze, watching the Blonde-haired youth with interest, an involuntary hint of killing intent leaking from him.

The Blonde-haired youth seemed to sense something in his stupor, shifting his head uneasily, his cheek brushing against the dust on the ground, his fingers twitching slightly and unconsciously.

The Silver-haired youth took everything into his sight, revealing a faint, slightly mischievous smile.

..

After cleaning up all the traces, Midori packed his things. Seeing that the mission was completed even earlier than expected, he decided to rest here for a day and take the Shinkansen back to Kanagawa the next day.

Leaving that same night would have been too rushed.

Since he came here to complete a Mission, it was impossible for him to bring anything else; naturally, all of Midori's study materials were no exception.

All his study materials were at home; it was impossible for his to even try to be a good student here.

Having completed the Mission, Shiratori Midori had nothing to do, so he simply decided to go shopping.

Gin: You just finished a murder and destroyed the evidence this morning, now you're out shopping this afternoon?

I don't know whether to call this girl thick-headed or just incredibly carefree..

#Wait, aren't these two words the same thing?#

Forget about that for now!" Shiratori Midori's tone carried a hint of breakdown. "I have exams in a couple of days.. Can't you just let me relax properly? QAQ

Oh—" Gin replied solemnly, stabbing his with a deadpan remark, "Is this self-indulgence in the face of known misfortune?

Hey!

You don't like that word?" The Silver-haired youth [male] pretended to think for a moment. "Then.. giving up on yourself?

Zhenjun!

Watching his companion smile with such "kind" (lie) intentions, he really wanted to lose his temper at being mistaken for Miss Shiratori Midori, but—

Forget it, I really can't bring myself to be angry at this face..

#The Sorrow of Being a Beauty-Obsessed Person#

#I'm not a face-con, I just have a (?) Gin fetish#

He kicked the ground indignantly—ah! She hadn't controlled her strength and her foot hurt—then, without changing her expression, she turned to face Gin.

At the same time, she appeared to shift her weight to the left in a seemingly inconspicuous manner, slightly lifting her right leg.

Shiratori Midori: It really hurts!

By the way, why did you let him go before?

Although there was an element of him pleading for mercy, Shiratori Midori did not believe his words carried enough weight to change Gin's decision.

At most, it only made Gin hesitate; he hadn't acted, so he must have had other reasons.

"This.." The Silver-haired youth tilted his head slightly and said with a hint of mischief:

You guess—

Amidst the Brown-haired girl's indignant cries, Gin turned around in a good mood and walked away without looking back.

What had fallen from the blonde-haired youth's coat pocket earlier was, quite strikingly, a card—it was a student ID.

Although he had never truly heard the name on it, it was still quite familiar.

Furuya Rei.

Life is just too boring; I need to find some fun..

Gin expressed that he was quite happy with his little prank.

He fixed himself up a bit.

See you tomorrow!

..

I watched a cut of Touko from a couple of days ago.

Me: Ahhh, Touko is so cute (is something wrong?)!

Then, I arranged for the young Touko to make her debut first.

However..

Yesterday, while I was watching the anime..

I saw a scene of Akai.

He said he was brutally dumped by his lover and that she would pay the price, here..
