Chapter 267(1 / 1)

The girl's lips were so pale they were colorless, even peeling slightly from dryness. She licked the corners of her lips, not caring at all.

Gin shifted her gaze from Shiratori Midori for a moment and said softly, "I'll stay on watch, you go get some sleep."

A Restroom was right next to the Ward. It wasn't large, but it was well-equipped with everything one might need, it even featured a small Restroom for personal hygiene. Nana had been exhausted lately, so she had spent most of her time there.

Nana froze for a moment, her somewhat hazy brain unable to properly process what Gin said, but she quickly reacted and nodded seriously.

Then.. if there's anything, just call me.

Her movements were very light, she closed the door very softly as she left, as if she were afraid of disturbing someone.

Gin was still standing not far away.

After an unknown amount of time had passed, he slowly shifted his steps and walked toward the hospital bed.

She sat down in the place where Nana had previously sat.

..

By the time Nana woke up, the sky had turned completely black.

She rubbed her eyes while forcing herself to reach for the i Phone placed by her pillow. Upon opening it, she realized she had already overslept.

To avoid delaying things, Nana set an alarm for one hour before going to sleep, intending only to take a short nap.

Perhaps it was because she had been too tired these past few days, or perhaps it was because she had finally felt at ease now that Zhenjun had arrived. She slept so deeply that the alarm didn't wake her at all.

Nana sighed, pulled back the covers to tidy herself up, then picked up her Black i Phone and walked out of the room.

It was already midnight, the Moon hung silently in the pitch-black sky, casting a cold light upon all things in the world.

Everything around was quiet, the entire World seemed to have fallen into a deep sleep.

However, as she approached Sister's ward door, she seemed to hear a noise.

The sound was soft and quiet, a faint rustling, yet it gave Nana a sudden fright.

She didn't know if something had happened, nor did she know if it was good or bad news; she could only cautiously yet frantically and helplessly crack the door open a little.

Then, through the crack in the door, she saw the scene before her and overheard their conversation.

..

"You can see me.." the Brown-haired girl said softly. She truly had no strength left, so even such a simple sentence was spoken in a broken, halting manner.

Those clear green eyes stared quietly, yet with total devotion, at the person before her, completely oblivious to the surrounding environment.

I thought.. I wouldn't see you again.." she said. "I didn't expect I'd see you again.. This is quite nice, actually.

But.. don't be too sad. You must live your life well..

I.. I went to my death of my own free will.. It's not your fault.. It really isn't.. So.. please, don't feel so much Guilt..

As she spoke, she seemed a little sad, even her Voice grew low.

You don't even have many friends.. After I'm dead.. what will you do..

She looked at him sorrowfully, "Go make some friends.. or, go meet more people.. go wander around somewhere, to clear your mind.."

Her Voice grew lighter and lighter, yet also more and more urgent.

Don't.. let me influence you.. Live your own life.. properly..

Gin looked at her, but did not answer her.

She froze, as if she had thought of something, her entire mood plummeted.

So.. you can see me, but you can't hear what I say?

The girl's voice choked up, her eyes drooping, but her lips remained curved: "Okay.. Okay.."

I don't know either.. when you will no longer be able to see me," she said softly, making a gentle promise, "But as long as you can still see me, I will stay by your side..

These words were so abrupt and out of nowhere that Nana was momentarily stunned, to the point that even Joy forgot.

A few seconds later, a thought flashed through her mind, consuming her entire consciousness, to the point where she had to steady herself against the wall just to keep her body from collapsing.

Nana suddenly raised her eyes, staring fixedly at everything in the Ward.

The Silver-haired man curled her lips and smiled at her Friend on the Hospital bed.

You're not dead," he said deeply. "What I saw was not your soul.

Amidst the girl's bewildered gaze, he declared with certainty:

You're still alive," Gin said. "I brought you back to life.

Moonlight poured down, spilling across the ground in a cascade of shimmering Time.

Outside the door, Nana covered her mouth tightly and turned to leave.

There was a glimmer of tears in her eyes.

She

Chapter 201 Chapter 182 I Can Still Participate in Their Next..

During the day, Shiratori Midori's time being awake is not long.

She would often open her eyes, take in the layout of the ward, say a few words to the researcher treating her; however, she would only smile at her sister, who held her hand and rambled on.

And she winked at Gin, who visited occasionally.

Then, as time flies, the brown-haired girl's weak body would leave her feeling increasingly exhausted and drowsy. Sometimes, while she was talking to Nana, she would close her eyes without realizing it and fall into a deep sleep.

This sleep sometimes lasted for a few hours, sometimes it lasted for several days.

Nana spent almost all of her time with her Sister. This was her long-lost Family, her only remaining blood relative in this mortal world.

She generously shared the intelligence she had gathered over the years with Edogawa Conan, then threw herself into her Sister's pale yet gentle smile.

Anyway, the restroom is right next to the ward, it is fully equipped with bedsheets and bedding, even has a small restroom.

So, while Midori was unconscious, Nana packed her clothes and arrived, dragging a small suitcase. She looked as if she had the plan to stay for a long time.

When sisters meet, there is always endless conversation. Moreover, back then, Midori was traveling alone, carrying her secrets, while over the years, Nana had grown through many trials and tribulations.

Just talking about their respective journeys would be enough to keep them talking for a long time.

But they were in no hurry.

Because now, they had plenty of time to take it slow.

I was scared half to death!" The black-haired female detective sat in the chair by the hospital bed, exaggerating her state of mind at the time, "I only found out later that Kimie-nee was sent by Zhenjun—but her entrance really startled me.

As she said this, Nana's green eyes were full of joy, showing no sign of fear: "By the way, Sister. You haven't met Kimie-nee yet, have you? She is a beautiful woman, she is incredibly amazing! A while ago, when I was using a disguise, she was the one who helped me."

That sounds lovely, I'd really love to meet her—" Seeing Nana's hesitant expression, Midori thoughtfully finished the sentence, "Well.. I know. We'll talk about it once I'm feeling a bit better.

Before Nana could even breathe a sigh of relief, she heard her Sister's calm voice: "But.. disguising yourself as me?"

Amidst Nana's suddenly frozen smile, Midori asked curiously, "Why?"

"This.." The Black-haired female detective's gaze drifted as she stammered, struggling to find her words, desperately wanting to change the subject.

It wasn't that Nana was intentionally hiding it. In fact, these things couldn't be kept secret; some things, Midori would have to know sooner or later.

But then again..

At the very least, it couldn't be now, when she had just escaped Death and her body was exceptionally weak.

After observing her sister's flustered appearance for a while, a faint smile bloomed on Shiratori Midori's lips: "How exactly do you plan to trick me?"

Nana: ".."

Nana said with difficulty, "Sis.. listen to my explanation—"

Forget it." Teasing her sister playfully to lighten the mood, Midori did not wish to make things difficult: "When you are ready to tell me, just explain it clearly to me then.

"However—" The brown-haired girl gazed at her sister, whose features resembled her own, a flicker of complex emotion passing through her eyes.

The once innocent and naive little girl had already grown into the mature and beautiful woman she was today; with a quick glance, she realized that Nana had grown much taller.

And her Time seemed to have been paused, only resuming its flow a few days ago.

If the Sisters were walking on the street right now, perhaps no one would think she was the Sister.

She had missed more than ten whole years.

She missed the people she cared about, for ten whole years.

Midori slightly closed her eyes, sleepiness surged into her brain in waves, making her feel somewhat groggy for a moment.

She knew that she wanted to "sleep" again.

Before falling asleep, she curled the corner of her lips and said softly and gently to her sister, "If possible.. bring him over so I can see her."

Him?

“Mm.” Midori spoke slowly, her eyes half-closed and one hand supporting her body, amidst her sister's slightly surprised expression: “It's that boy you like.”

The brown-haired girl raised her hand with effort, placing it lightly by her lips to make a "shh—" gesture.

“Don't try to make excuses—" He winked one eye slyly, showing a hint of youthful playfulness, "Even though you didn't tell me, I've guessed it anyway—"

Placing her hand on Nana's head, Midori turned her head and said softly, "Bring him here, let me see her."

Let me see him.
