Chapter 14(1 / 1)

Timothy fell asleep.

What would Timothy dream about?

Like everyone who has just bought a lottery ticket, Colt began to look forward to his windfall.

He lingered on various shopping websites, adding things he usually considered wasteful to his shopping cart: professional cameras, DSLR lenses, thick original-text volumes, expensive laboratory equipment with poor cost-performance ratios..

21:30

Red Robin finished his rest, downed a cup of coffee to refill his energy bar, headed out for his night patrol.

Colt put the thirteenth rare element into the shopping cart, the wonderful rustling sound suddenly vanished.

The world fell silent.

The progress bar regressed, the little Red Robin, flapping its wings with all its might like it had encountered a storm, crashed back to the very bottom of the progress bar, feebly covering its head with its wings.

[63, time for a quick break and a cup of coffee, then a new all-nighter awaits me!]

Colt looked at the poor Little Messenger, the progress bar that was as dull and lifeless as death, then at the shopping cart overflowing with luxury goods.

It doesn't matter; everyone needs sleep.

He's awake now, but he'll definitely go back to sleep later!

A person only has one liver; I don't believe he can keep staying up like this forever!

22:30

Red Robin found Mad Hatter's location.

Birdie reminded Colt that it was time to sleep.

Colt glanced at the progress bar and headed upstairs with his book in hand.

22:50

Red Robin was busy kicking Mad Hatter's ass.

Colt began washing up, taking another look at the progress bar.

23:30

Red Robin tied up the Mad Hatter and tossed him to Robin.

Colt put down his bedtime reading and glanced at the progress bar one last time before turning off the light.

23:31

Red Robin received news that Red Hood and Penguin were at each other's throats, so he swung across half the city to watch the excitement.

Colt closed his eyes and gritted his teeth: No problem, people always need to sleep! Even if Timothy wants to stay up, his family will be so afraid he'll drop dead that they'll force him to sleep, when he wakes up, he'll definitely be able to open a Dream Station blind box!

2:30

Red Hood blew up Penguin's weapons warehouse.

Colt was jolted awake by the vibration.

He looked at the swaying light fixtures, calculating the magnitude of the vibration.

There were no aftershocks, which meant there had been an explosion nearby.

The Robin Bird in the nest by the window stirred, flying out in a daze to land by the pillow, its eyes closed as it used its wings to pat Colt's forehead.

Go to sleep, Mama Bird, I'm not scared.

Colt put the little bird's wings back, gave the pillow to the bird, moved to a different spot to continue sleeping.

Take a look at the Dream Station.

Colt snapped his eyes open: Why wasn't Timothy asleep yet? Was he really planning to pull another all-nighter?!

Chapter 13

Red Robin is tracking Red Hood.

He saw with his own eyes Red Hood's motorcycle take flight! Flying out from the explosion! Flying over the harbor! Flying over high-rises! Flying over the plaza..

He didn't fly over the plaza; the vehicle crashed into the greenery!

Black Mask ordered his men to drag Red Hood, who was crawling out of the ditch, back into the car.

Red Hood did not send out a distress signal.

Red Robin was like a protective little guardian for his brother, activating the surveillance equipment inside Red Hood's mask to stand guard for his brother's safety.

This is absolutely necessary!

Black Mask's attitude toward Red Hood was off.

Black Mask asked Amiably, "You've been making a lot of moves lately. Does that money I lost have something to do with you?"

Red Hood was acting strange too; he was actually sitting on Black Mask's lap!

Red Hood pressed his gun against Black Mask's chin: "If I'm short on cash, I'll come straight to you for it!"

Black Mask actually laughed, sliding a black card into Red Hood's pocket: "Very good. Abandon your Bat-Daddy and come inherit my empire."

Pfft

Red Robin couldn't help but spray his coffee.

What was even worse was that the surveillance camera was discovered by Red Hood.

Red Hood, incensed by the humiliation, beat Black Mask mercilessly, declaring that the Masked Society was inferior to Penguin's Iceberg Lounge, before crushing the monitor and turning to settle the score with Red Robin.

Red Robin was making an emergency evacuation while simultaneously copying and saving the surveillance footage.

Red Hood was truly furious, chasing him all the way to the Batcave to force him to destroy the incriminating footage.

Handing over the video is impossible!

Red Robin chose to hand over intelligence regarding the child disappearance case Red Hood was investigating, along with priority intelligence support for the next month, plus an exclusive, candid photo of Bruce tripping while walking down the stairs.

As they said their goodbyes, Red Robin casually included a new surveillance device for Red Hood.

He isn't a control freak; he's just used to it.

Anyway, Red Hood can't kill him.

As long as he can't be killed, the surveillance cannot be turned off.

The Troublemaker was glad he hadn't gone upstairs to sleep immediately, so he could witness this extreme tug-of-war.

"One day, you're going to get beaten to death by Red Hood," the Troublemaker clicked his tongue.

He won't," Red Robin paused, "at the very least, I didn't put surveillance in his bathroom.

The Orphan gave Red Robin a thumbs up.

Thanks for the compliment.

Red Robin nodded with reserve and pride, taking advantage of Alfred's absence, brewed himself a cup of strong coffee.

The weather is very good today.

Colt's mood, however, was terrible.

Waking up in the morning, the Dream Station was empty, proving that Timothy had stayed up all night again, the Quantum Terminal had received an email notification regarding the lost shipment.

Even though his Vibranium was sitting right there in Penguin's vault, Penguin actually claimed that the shipment had been hijacked by Red Robin and Red Hood working together, demanded that he go to the Iceberg Lounge in person to collect 5 million in compensation.

If he were a living person and actually went to the Iceberg Lounge, let alone getting the 5 million, he would be wrapped in cement and dumped into the Gotham River.

Colt completed the routine check of the surveillance system, prepared enough bird food, put on his hearing aid and Quantum Terminal, confirmed that the inter-dimensional signal stabilizer was operating normally, then skated to the Iceberg Lounge to visit his Vibranium.

Vibranium was still in its original place.

Colt tried to take the 5 million in compensation, but as he expected, he couldn't touch the safe containing the money.

Penguin only wanted to use money to lure him out; he had no intention of paying at all.

Colt inspected the entire Iceberg Lounge, recording all secret passages, hidden rooms, wall compartments, secret safes for storing ledgers, illegal underground money-laundering dens, warehouses filled with contraband..

There were two consecutive Biology Teacher classes again this morning.

Timothy still didn't show up for class.

Colt listened to the Biology Teacher lecture on the 108 ways a fragile human body could die, edited the "Exploring Iceberg Lounge" video, gnawed on his own cold rice ball for lunch.

For the afternoon photography class, the teacher chose to teach outdoors.

Under the large oak tree by the lake, ropes were strung up to hang several rows of photos, arranged as a small photography exhibition. The teacher invited the students to choose their favorite photo and discuss visual aesthetics as well as the necessity of photography.

Colt did not participate; he was watching Timothy jogging over from the distance, wanting to rush over and give him a dose of high-potency anesthetic to send him into an immediate, infant-like sleep.

Sorry, I'm late.

Oh, it's fine, we've only just begun.

The teacher was very lenient toward Timothy, because he received a $500 gift card today, which was even more of a surprise to him than the $250 supermarket gift card he received yesterday.

Even if Drake and Little Reed skipped class like each other, he would still give them both full credits.

Timothy brought a DSLR camera. When the teacher mentioned the golden ratio of a lens, he raised the camera to photograph the trees, the clouds, the black swans by the lakeside.

Colt stood by the lakeside, watching Timothy, who was snapping photos with boundless energy, wondered if the other had non-human blood.

Starting from Sunday, for four whole days, Timothy had only slept for five hours! Once for three hours, four times for half an hour!

Timothy's brain was somewhat hyperactive, as if he had discovered that Damian liked reading shoujo manga.

Pure-hearted shoujo manga was not a description, but a fact.

Timothy controlled the corners of his mouth to keep them from curling upward too much as he raised the special camera capable of capturing spirits. He aimed it at Ghost by the lakeside and pressed the shutter, leaving behind a blurry photo that would ruin his years of established persona if it were ever developed.

The modified camera failed to capture Ghost's figure.
