Chapter 28(1 / 1)

What is this faint sense of unease..

At the very last second of the service time limit, Miya Atsumu raised his hand and tossed the ball up.

With a standard three-step approach, he leaped lightly in front of the baseline, raising his hand to strike the center of the volleyball with his palm.

From the moment Miya Atsumu took his first step, Yaku instinctively prepared to move forward.

His stride was large, the rhythm of his approach wasn't even that fast..

And as the sound of Miya Atsumu hitting the ball rang out, Yaku shouted directly, "Jump Float! Get in front!"

That's right, this is a characteristic unique to the Jump Float Serve.

Unlike a power serve, most of the Jump Float Serves landed near the front of the court, aside from those that intentionally dropped sharply near the baseline.

But the Nekoma players were still too slow.

Yaku stepped forward and raised his hands to prepare for the receive, but unfortunately, he was just a little too late. The volleyball grazed his arm as it fell, crashing onto the floor.

The referee blew the whistle, signaling that Miya Atsumu's serve scored.

The scoreboard flipped to 1:0.

Atsumu, great spike!

Great spike, Atsumu-senpai! One more!

The people in the waiting area also gave Miya Atsumu a warm cheer immediately.

Yaku said with a serious expression, "This guy.. has he already become a Dual Wield?"

Miya Atsumu caught the ball returned by the opposing side, preparing to deliver the second serve.

Nekoma's positioning had clearly moved forward quite a bit, but considering how powerful Miya Atsumu's strong serves were, Nekoma didn't dare to press up too far forward.

After letting out an indifferent laugh, Miya Atsumu tossed the ball up once again.

Just like the previous ball, it was a Jump Float Serve.

But Yaku, who was already prepared, did not rush forward blindly, nor did he use his non-dominant hand; instead, he slightly raised his hands to cushion the ball underneath.

With a loud bang, the volleyball flew steadily upward, landing unerringly right above Kenma's head.

"Amazing," Akagi exclaimed in admiration.

Hinata immediately looked at Akagi Michinari: "Akagi-senpai, can a Jump Float Serve be received like this? When I tried it before, it would fly off."

A Jump Float Serve has no initial spin and doesn't have much force; if you just touch it directly, you definitely won't be able to control it," Akagi reached out to demonstrate to Hinata, "If you give it an initial force like this, it won't fly off wildly.

"Understood." Hinata nodded.

Aran took the initiative to suggest, "If you want to try, you can tag along when Shinsuke is practicing his serves later."

"Is it okay, Kita-senpai!" Hinata looked at Kita.

Kita nodded. "Yeah, you can."

On the court, Kenma tossed the ball to Yamamoto Takeshi, who had already swapped positions with Kaishin and was jumping at position four.

Yamamoto spiked a straight ball beside Ginjima; Unabara, whose reaction was a bit slow, failed to follow it, allowing Nekoma to score a point smoothly.

On the sidelines, Akagi shouted to his junior, "Unabara, don't be nervous! Observe the opposing wing spiker's movements in advance!"

However.. that Mohawk guy really has some skills; that straight spike was executed with such precision and decisiveness.

Nekoma's Middle Blocker Inokai's serve failed to score, Ginjima's serve was also easily neutralized by Yaku.

Coach Kurosu frowned slightly on the coaching bench.

To be honest, Nekoma's ability to receive balls had already exceeded his original estimates; even that straight spike from Suna just now, which should have been a direct kill, was barely saved by the opponents..

He spoke to Miya Atsumu, saying, "Atsumu, speed it up a bit."

Miya Atsumu understood immediately.

As Unabara received the ball from the back row, Miya Osamu had already started moving, charging from the center toward the edge of the net.

Kuroo's gaze was diverted by Miya Osamu for a split second, in the next second, the volleyball had already been set by Miya Atsumu.

The volleyball, flying almost in a straight line, passed through Miya Osamu's hitting point and was spiked directly toward the center of Nekoma.

Bang!

Yaku let out an incredulous gasp, "Eh?"

What happened? It was like the ball suddenly flew past? Did their setter just set the ball?

“Nice!” The perfectly coordinated twins high-fived.

Kenma frowned and looked directly at Kuroo, who had rotated to the front row. "Kuroo, go for a one-on-one block against their Opposite."

If you don't keep an eye on a Quick Attack like that.. it's easy to make a mistake.

Although Yaku is strong, all the pressure shouldn't be placed on him. If it was just something like that just now, a One-on-one Block should be able to keep up.

"No problem." Kuroo made an OK gesture.

And it turned out Kenma's judgment was correct; Miya Osamu's overall running speed was something Kuroo could keep up with, Kuroo successfully made contact on the second ball.

Even though it ultimately went out of bounds, it was still a good start.

"Is it really not good enough?" Miya Atsumu rubbed his chin.

—But it doesn't matter anyway.

Behind him, Suna and Unabara swapped positions.

Hinata, coming up from the substitution area, took his position on the court and took a deep breath to calm his churning heart.

Miya Atsumu lowered his eyes, shifting his gaze from Miya Osamu to Hinata.

With Miya Osamu there, Kuroo couldn't pay attention to Hinata for the time being, instead focusing all his attention on Miya Osamu.

Quick.. just how quick can it be?

The twins' coordination was certainly on a higher level than a standard Quick Attack, but it could be kept up with by using a 2+1 Block.

Kuroo's footsteps quickly followed Miya Osamu for two steps, at the same time, in his field of vision, an orange shadow rapidly crossed paths with Miya Osamu in the middle of the court.

—No way.

With this suspicion in mind, Fukunaga quickly started moving to follow Hinata, Nekoma's block was forcibly split open by the two of them, revealing an incredibly wide open space behind.

Fukunaga chased after Hinata, looking as if he could catch up at any moment.

But as he reached the edge of the net, the Little Orange took a step forward, paused for a split second, then suddenly spun around.

A gust of wind, moving several times faster than just a moment ago, swept past Fukunaga's eyes, then.. he leaped high into the air in the center of the court.

The volleyball flew over at the same time, overlapping with Hinata's extremely rapid arm swing.

Thud.

A soft sound rang out, before anyone could react, the volleyball had already landed at Yaku's feet.

Hinata landed softly, slowly letting out a breath.

The touch today.. is very good.

Looking at the expressions on the faces of the Nekoma players opposite him, Miya Atsumu couldn't help but burst out laughing.

My apologies.

They can be even faster.
