Chapter 65(1 / 1)

Early on Day 2, Killua Zoldyck slipped into Gojo Satoru's Room.

Wake up!" He nudged the still-sleeping Gojo Satoru, "You promised we'd go down the mountain!

Gojo Satoru opened his eyes, saw an excited little face, sighed, got up to wash up.

The two of them quietly slipped out of the main estate and headed down the mountain road.

On the road, they encountered several butlers. Seeing Killua Zoldyck walking with a strange silver-haired man, they all froze for a moment, but no one stopped them—yesterday, the Message about Gojo Satoru had already spread throughout the entire Zoldyck Family, everyone knew that a powerful figure suspected of having the family's bloodline had arrived.

After descending the mountain and walking for quite a while, they finally arrived at a town.

Killua Zoldyck looked around curiously. He rarely went down the mountain, the world outside was brand new to him.

Gojo Satoru first found a shop and withdrew some money—yesterday, he had the audacity to ask Silva to "borrow" ten million Jen, claiming it was a "settling-in fee," and Silva had actually given it to him.

Then he pulled Killua Zoldyck along and went to a Dessert Shop first.

Cake, pudding, ice cream, chocolate, macarons, puffs.. Gojo Satoru bought a little bit of everything, filling a large bag.

These are yours." He handed the bag to Killua Zoldyck. "Eat slowly, don't get a stomachache.

Killua Zoldyck held the bag, his Eyes shining like stars.

Then they went to the Figure Store.

Gojo Satoru took a stroll around the shop, picking out a few limited editions and also buying the latest model of a Game Console.

"Is that enough?" he asked Killua Zoldyck.

Killua Zoldyck nodded. "That's enough, that's enough! That fat bastard Mikuru will definitely go crazy with joy when he sees it."

After finishing their shopping, the two found a place to sit down. Killua Zoldyck began eating dessert, while Gojo Satoru watched the pedestrians passing by on the street, thinking of his Xiao Bai.

"Are you very worried about him?" Killua Zoldyck asked while eating Pudding.

Yeah.

Is he very strong?

He's alright," Gojo Satoru thought for a moment. "He's a bit timid when it comes to fighting, but when he actually gets into it, he's quite fierce.

Then how did he end up getting lost by you?

Gojo Satoru fell silent for a few seconds, then said, "It's my fault. I didn't give him enough sense of security, I failed to provide him with proper Protection."

Killua Zoldyck tilted his head, not quite understanding.

Gojo Satoru smiled and rubbed his silver hair: "You'll understand once you grow up."

---

Upon returning to the Zoldyck Family, Gojo Satoru had Killua Zoldyck lead the way, carrying the figurines and the game console, to Mikuru's room.

Mikuru's door was closed, the sound of typing on a Keyboard could be heard from inside.

Gojo Satoru knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Mikuru's Voice came from inside, tinged with a hint of impatience.

Me, your cousin.

The door opened a crack, Mikuru's eyes peered out through the gap.

Gojo Satoru raised the figure box in his hand.

The door opened in a moment.

Mikuru stared at that Figure, his Eyes wide: "This.. this is.."

"Limited edition." Gojo Satoru walked into the room and placed the Box on his desk. "And this, too." He also took out the Game Console.

Mikuru's hands were trembling as he touched the Box, then touched the Game Console, as if he were afraid they might disappear.

"W-what do you want?" He swallowed hard, finally remembering to ask.

Gojo Satoru sat down beside him, watching him:

Help me investigate someone.

Mikuru nodded immediately: "Investigate! Investigate whom?"

Black hair, red eyes," Gojo Satoru said. "He might have rabbit ears on his head. He only recently appeared in this world, he is very strong.

Mikuru frowned. "Just that?"

"Just these," Gojo Satoru said after thinking for a moment to be sure.

Mikuru stared at him for a few seconds, then turned around, his thick fingers tapping rapidly on the keyboard.

Strings of code and data flashed across the Screen.

Gojo Satoru stood behind, watching the information scroll by rapidly.

The Six Eyes were limited here, but his intuition told him that Xiao Bai was definitely in this world as well.

Outside the window, the night grew deep.

The Night at Kukuru Mountain is very quiet, with only the occasional low growl of wild beasts from the distance.

Mikuru stared at the Screen, tapping on the Keyboard.

Gojo Satoru stood by the window, looking out at the pitch-black Mountain Forest.

Xiao Bai," he said softly, "wait for me.

Chapter 38

Mikuru stared at the Screen, his thick fingers tapping a few times on the Keyboard before stopping.

I found a few," he said, his Voice carrying a hint of smugness. "A few tough characters have indeed been cropping up over in Meteor City lately. But the one that best fits your requirements..

He paused for a moment, then opened a Document.

A blurry photo popped up on the Screen. The resolution was very low, as if it had been taken from a distance. But it was clear that it was a person—black hair, red eyes, two long ears standing up on top of their head.

Rabbit Ears.

Gojo Satoru leaned in, staring at that Photo.

The person in the Photo is standing atop a pile of trash, gripping a Black Sword in his hand, with several people lying around him. The light is very dim, making it impossible to see his face clearly, but that silhouette, that stance, that..

Rabbit King," Mikuru said, "the new leader of a faction in District 3 of Meteor City. It's said he appeared suddenly a month ago, using a sword that can be summoned to defeat the previous gang and claim a territory for himself. The people under him call him Rabbit King.

Gojo Satoru stared at that blurry photo, his eyes unblinking.

Black hair. Red eyes. Rabbit Ears. Can manifest a sword.

It is Xiao Bai.

It was definitely Xiao Bai.

"Do you have a clearer Photo?" he asked, his Voice a bit tight.

Mikuru shook his head. "No. You know what Meteor City is like; not many people dare to go in there to take photos. This was taken by an information broker who risked everything to snap it."

Gojo Satoru stared at that Photo for a few more seconds, then straightened his back.

“Find more for me,” he said. “The more detailed, the better. Which area he is in, who is by his side, what he does every day—investigate it all.”

Mikuru glanced at him, then looked at the Figure and Game Console on the desk, nodded. "Fine. But intelligence on Meteor City is hard to come by; it'll cost extra."

Money is not a problem," Gojo Satoru said. "How long will it take to find out?

It'll take at least three to five days at the earliest," Mikuru said. "It's too chaotic over there; we'll have to find a specialized information broker.

Gojo Satoru nodded. He turned to leave, but then stopped and looked back at Mikuru.

Also, do you know anyone more professional?" he asked. "The kind who can go directly into Meteor City to find someone.

Mikuru froze for a moment. "More professional?"

Yeah," Gojo Satoru said, "Someone who can personally go to those kinds of places and bring back messages.

Mikuru thought about it, his expression became a bit subtle.

There is.." he said, his voice dropping, "My Eldest Brother, Illumi. He often takes jobs from Meteor City.

Gojo Satoru's eyes lit up.

Where is he?

His own room, I assume," Mikuru said. "The one on the east side of the Third Floor. But I'd advise you to be careful; that man.. he's a bit strange.

Gojo Satoru nodded and turned to walk out the door.

---

On the east side of the Third Floor, there is a door at the end of the Corridor.

The door was dark, no different from the other doors. But the aura leaking through the cracks in the door made Gojo Satoru pause for a moment.

Cold. Empty. It felt as if nothing was there, yet as if everything was inside.

He knocked on the door.

No one responded.

He knocked again.

Still, there was no response.

Gojo Satoru reached out and pushed open the door.

The Room was very dark, the Curtains were drawn, only the light from the Computer Screen was flickering. A Man with Black hair sat before the Computer, his Back to the door, motionless.

Gojo Satoru walked in.

That man turned his head.

Long, straight black hair, a pale face, large but hollow Eyes, devoid of any Emotion. He wore casual Clothes, sitting as upright as a mannequin.

Illumi Zoldyck.

"What is it?" he asked, his Voice flat, without any Undulation.
